Wesley Brook riverbank repair and fish habitat improvement works - Wheatfield Drive Recreation Ground
Partnership project with Shropshire Wildlife Trust, Environment Agency and Shifnal Town Council
Contractors have started work on the river bank erosion and have completed the smallest repair area of bank damage. Further investigation of a concrete pad in the river channel have revealed the structure is far larger than first thought and it has been decided that more harm would be done removing the concrete, far outweighing any benefit. The concrete pad in the river channel will now be left in situ, it poses no threat to river wildlife or people in its current position. The team will be working on the larger river bank damage for the rest of this week. Please be aware of machine movements whilst the team are on site, thank you.
The operations will take no longer than 10 days. Please take care during the operations but these will not disrupt the normal use of the playground and sports field facilities. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused by these essential works. For further information please contact the contract manager at Shropshire Wildlife Trust – Pete Lambert on 07506 120022 or email firstname.lastname@example.org thank you
